Aah... Frisco!
Alex was standing right in the middle of the big hall where lots of things were happening at the same time. People with determined faces hurrying to get their shuttles, other people with smiling faces leaving others. There were Starfleet officers everywhere reading PADDs or just standing there looking out for "their" new Ensigns to arrive. Alex saw Humans, Vulcans, Andorians.. he had the impression that the whole galaxy was gathered here in San Francisco.
Well, in a way he was right because many of these people have either just finished Starfleet Academy or were about to start their career and had to study for four years at this unique place every future officer has to go to.
Alex was no exception. Some days ago he received his Academy Diploma, including his first assignment. It was a great moment for him and everybody of his family was proud of him. His personal career was a bit different from others perhaps because he had already been an experienced physician when he volunteered and studied at the Academy. Due to that he had been slightly older than his comrades which had never been a problem, though, Soon he was able to make new friends with whom he had a wonderful time at SFA.
Now, four years later he was standing inside this massive spaceport looking for his shuttlecraft. He was wearing his a-class dress uniform showing the colours of a medical doctor as well as the insignia of a Starfleet Lieutenant. Alex had the order to report directly to the Commanding Officer of Starbase 1.
Dock 93... let's see...! Damn, this spacedock is a maze! I am a doctor, not a pathfinder.
